{"id":2557,"date":"2023-11-17T16:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-11-17T16:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gilm.pt\/guidelines-for-the-national-media-literacy-plan-published-in-diario-da-republica\/"},"modified":"2024-02-16T15:40:32","modified_gmt":"2024-02-16T15:40:32","slug":"guidelines-for-the-national-media-literacy-plan-published-in-diario-da-republica","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gilm.pt\/en\/guidelines-for-the-national-media-literacy-plan-published-in-diario-da-republica\/","title":{"rendered":"Guidelines for the National Media Literacy Plan published in Di\u00e1rio da Rep\u00fablica"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\n\n<h4><b>Medida visa combater a desinforma\u00e7\u00e3o e a divulga\u00e7\u00e3o de conte\u00fados falsos junto da popula\u00e7\u00e3o<\/b><\/h4>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n<\/p><p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/diariodarepublica.pt\/dr\/detalhe\/resolucao-conselho-ministros\/142-2023-224427490\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">diploma<\/a> approving the Guidelines of the National Plan for Media Literacy (PNLM) was published in the Official Gazette on November 17.  <\/p>\n<p>The document states in its introduction that the measure aims to &#8220;counteract the deficit in access, consultation and reading of press information content and to promote the fight against disinformation and the dissemination of false content among the population, with a special focus on the school context, but also reaching those segments that have lower levels of media literacy&#8221;.  <\/p>\n<p>The PNLM, designed for five years, will be drawn up and implemented by the inter-ministerial commission created by Council of Ministers Resolution no. 48-D\/2017, of March 31, which approves the guidelines for the National Reading Plan 2027. The members of the Government responsible for Education and Culture will be responsible for approving it.<\/p>\n<p>This inter-ministerial commission will also be supported by an advisory board made up of &#8220;five personalities of recognized merit and with experience in the media sector or in areas related to media literacy&#8221;, representatives of the members of the Government in the areas of Education and Culture and of various public entities with competencies in media literacy.  <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Congress-GILM_051_FB\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gilm.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/elementor\/thumbs\/Congresso-GILM_051_FB-qeyidwpntf2xr2v2viojd2eve4lev9ge62vr8qkbvw.jpg\" alt=\"Congress-GILM_051_FB\"><figcaption>On April 21, 2023, at the opening of the VI Media Literacy and Citizenship Congress, the Minister of Culture, Pedro Ad\u00e1o e Silva, announced that the PNLM would start in the second half of 2023.
